Overview

The Chardham yatra is a spiritual goal for almost every Hindu. The Badrinath temple, located along the bank of the Alaknanda river near the Garhwal hills, houses Badrinarayan, a form of Lord Vishnu. This temple is one of the holiest shrines in India and draws lakhs of pilgrims every year. Hence, you should visit this place at least once in your life. The mythology associated with the temple, as well as the mention in texts like Vishnu Puran and Skanda Puran, makes it a unique site worth visiting. It is also believed to be one of 108 holy temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Itinerary

On arrival at Haridwar Railway Station meet and greeted by our representative and drive straight towards Joshimath/Govindghat. En route visit Dev Prayag and Rudraprayag of Panch Prayag’s. Later proceed towards Joshimath/Govindghat. On arrival check-in to the hotel for overnight stay.

Joshimath: Joshimath or the Jyotirmath is the hill town at the 6150 m in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Adi Guru Sankaracharya built it in the 8th century. It is winter home of Lord Badri where the Idol of lord Badri gets shifted from Badrinath.

Rudraprayag: At the confluence of river Alaknanda and river Mandakini, the Rudraprayag is highly famous among Hindus. This place looks amazingly beautiful and is the gateway to the Badrinath and Kedarnath.

Rudraprayag Weather: Very hot summer season with the temperature ranging between 35 to 40 degree Celsius, and therefore not preferred time to have the visit. However, during the winter the weather remains pleasant during the day times, and therefore, best for having the tour. During night times in winter season, the temperature may lie between 5 to 20 degree Celsius, and therefore, you may feel the severe cold.

Early morning after breakfast, proceed to Shri Badrinath Ji. On arrival at Badrinath Ji, yatri’s can have a bath in the Tapt Kund and proceed to Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in evening. Brahamakapal is noteworthy for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There is other stimulating attractions like Mana Village, said to be the last village of our country, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the “Mukh” of the Saraswati River. All these places are surrounded within 3 Kms of Badrinath Ji. Later proceed to Rudraprayag/Srinagar via Joshimath. Visit Narsing Temple, winter of adobe of Badrinath Ji at Joshimath. After the darshan drive towards Rudraprayag/Srinagar. En route visit Nand Prayag and Karna Prayag, if time permits. On arrival, check-in at the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.

Badrinath: Near the Alakhnanda river, this highly auspicious temple belongs to Lord Vishnu. it is one of the Char Dham, and therefore, the place of utmost importance in Hinduism. This temple is at a height of 10,279 feet. The lofty snow-clad Himalaya that surrounds this Dham, makes it look amazingly beautiful. It was Adi Sankaracharya who established it. The Badrinath temple has a Tapt Kund, which is highly auspicious and has some unbelievable medicinal properties. The Alakhnanda river originates from here. It is placed between the mountain ranges of Nar and Narayana.

Tapt Kund: Situated on the bank of the river Alakhnanda, and near the Badrinarayan temple, the Tapt Kund is actually the Sulphur Kund. As per belief, it’s actually the Agni Dev himself who got this form because of getting the boon from Lord Vishnu.

Mana Village: Mana Village the perfect place for trekking, is the last village of India. This beautiful village is very nearer to the Badrinath, and therefore, a must-visit place during your visit to the Badrinath. This village has some highly famous caves such as the Vyas caves and many more. The Vyas cave belongs to the Mahabharata Period. Also, all other caves here, have some great religious and historical importance.

Badrinath Weather: During the summer, the temperature ranges between 8 to 18 degree Celsius, and therefore sufficiently perfect to have the tour. But, during the winter season with heavy snow falls, and the temperature down to 0 to 5 degree Celsius, makes the tour possibility terrible. Therefore, the place remains closed for tourists during the season.

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and visit Sangam at Rudraprayag, where Alaknanda and Mandakini meets together. Later proceed to Haridwar to complete the spiritual yatra. En-route visit Dhari Devi Temple, Dev Prayag (one among panch prayag) & Rishikesh. Later drop at Haridwar for onwards journey.

It is also famous as the Yoga capital of the world and celebrates the international yoga festival every year. It is located in the foothill of holy Himalaya and along with the convergence of holy Ganga and the Chandrabhage river. Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Triveni Ghat, and lot more devotional and spiritual places are here to make to feel the real peace and divine values.
